Regional Growth Strategy 2024 Monitoring Report
Kamloops, BC - December 2024
Last week, TNRD staff presented the Regional Growth Strategy 2024 Monitoring Report, providing information on population, housing, transportation, employment, healthcare, agriculture, and other key indicators that affect our communities.
The RGS is a coordinated plan to manage growth in a sustainable manner, and provides a framework for Electoral Areas and Member Municipalities to coordinate on matters that cross local government boundaries. The RGS encourages and directs most new development to occur in existing community nodes and protect the integrity of rural land, agriculture, and resources. The Local Government Act requires that regional districts have an RGS in place and to report on progress made.
